
Tiverton Mom Turns Pandemic Hobby Into Roadside Sourdough Bakery
Seeing a roadside stand on the SouthCoast is nothing new. Seeing a roadside sourdough stand? Well, hey, you have my attention.
That's exactly what one local mom has done.

A Family Effort with Heart
Like many, Lindsey Eggeman and her husband began making bread during the pandemic.
"My husband started baking regular homemade bread during COVID because we were trying to get away from the processed store foods, and think of all the ingredients in something that should be so simple," Eggeman said.
He then encouraged Lindsey to try her hand at making sourdough.
"A lot of trial and error, but I ended up making my own starter. It took a long time," she said.

The Rise of Little Rhode Sourdough
She got to work in her Tiverton home, honing her skills and perfecting the recipe.
"It took me like a full year to get the bake down right, and then I started giving it to friends and family last fall," Eggeman said.
The loaves went over so well with Eggeman's loved ones, they encouraged her to sell them.

She got proper licensing from the Department of Health and had her customers picking up their orders at her door. From there, it evolved into a small table in her yard and now, a roadside stand created by her husband.
Flavors That Keep Fans Coming Back
You can't go wrong with a classic sourdough, but that's just the beginning at Little Rhode Sourdough Bakery.
Eggeman has also created different sourdough flavors like cheddar, cinnamon, roasted garlic, and most recently, pumpkin.
Where to Find Little Rhode Sourdough
She offers her scrumptious sourdough (as well as scones and cookies) on Saturdays at her roadside stand on North Christopher Avenue in Tiverton.
