A little mystery in Tiverton recently left one woman scratching her head as she stared confusingly at a bag of eggs.

Makaila Moniz Medeiros shared a photo to Facebook after finding a bag of eggs and a handwritten note on her steps. The note, signed “Jenny,” apologized for something and asked Medeiros to accept the apology. There was just one problem: Medeiros didn’t know any Jenny who had chickens.

“Hi everyone, I just found these eggs and this note on my steps,” Moniz wrote. “The problem is I don't know anyone named Jenny that would be apologizing to me or that has chickens.”

A Clue From a Neighbor

Moniz asked if anyone knew who the mystery Jenny might be. That’s when Danielle Larrimore came to the rescue. “I know Jenny who is a DoorDasher in Tiverton and she gives eggs out all the time. Maybe her?” Larrimore commented.

Moniz soon realized she had, in fact, had a DoorDash delivery from a woman named Jenny that morning. She remembered that one of the items she ordered had been out of stock. “Maybe she was apologizing for that,” Moniz said, while pointing out that it was absolutely not Jenny’s fault.

Mystery Solved!

With the pieces finally fitting together, Moniz figured out that Jenny had likely left the eggs and note as a thoughtful apology for the missing item, and she decided to return that kindness with a little something of her own. “I gave Jenny an ‘egg-ceptional’ rating on DoorDash for her kindness lol,” she wrote.
