When it comes to teachers, we are big fans here at Fun 107. Teachers are so important because they are entrusted with something so valuable. They have the responsibility of shaping the young minds of the SouthCoast and across America.

The Best Teachers Share the Most Valuable Life Lessons

If there's one thing I've learned from the teachers that I know in my life it's that before math, science, English, or history can be taught, a child needs to feel safe and accepted. This means the life lessons that are taught in between the academics are just as important, if not more important than the schoolwork. Teachers have the power to model to their students how to be good citizens, how to care for others, and how to demonstrate grit when the going gets tough.

These are things that can't be measured by an MCAS test. They may even be things that don't even show up until years after the student has moved on from the teacher, but that doesn't mean they aren't critical lessons.

For decades, Fun 107 has honored the very best teachers here on the SouthCoast. These are the teachers that go above and beyond for their students, but somehow manage to stay out of the spotlight while they are doing it. These are the unsung heroes of our society.

We love to share these teachers with the world.  With some help from Vermette Development, Fun 107 awards these teachers with a $200 BJ's gift cards, a BJ's membership, and a big screen TV.
