New Bedford High School’s Tim Curry Named Teacher of the Month
Tim Curry has been a physical education teacher for decades. His passion is the swim and dive team at New Bedford High School, and due to his dedication and committement, his students nominated him to be FUN 107’s Teacher of the Month.
Here is what a couple of his student had to say:
Lana Jones- “Tim Curry is one of the most kind and considerate teachers that I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. He’s always there for people who need it most. He’s always offering to help when and where it’s needed.”
Jasmine Figaroa- “Mr. Curry should win because he is one of the most deserving and dedicated teachers I've ever met. He always has a smile on his face and he enjoys teaching us everyday. I’ve never met a better gym and swim teacher better or more dedicated that Mr. Curry”

We surprised Mr. Curry at the New Bedford High School gym and told him the good news. Curry fought back tears (and lost) as he heard the kind words that his students wrote about him.
“I already love my job but this, I can’t explain how feels. I appreciate every kid and every day I come in here for them so to know that they appreciate that I’m here makes me even happier than I usually am coming in. How the job has changed over the past three decades. I was a Elementary School teacher for nine then a Middle School teacher for twelve years. I’ve been here for about twelve years so I’ve taught every level and every level was the most rewarding and I’ve learned so much from the kids. It’s never been about physed or even me, it’s always been about making sure every kid that I have come across leaves a little happier than when they came.”
Congratulations to Mr. Curry for being honored as Fun 107's Teacher of the Month. Curry receives a $200 Amazon gift card and a 55 inch smart TV courtesy of Vermette Enterprise. Teacher of the Month is also presented by IZ Schwartz Appliance in Somerset and Greater New Bedford McDonald's.
