Mattapoisett Gym Teacher Wins Fun 107 Teacher of the Month

If you've been a parent in the Mattapoisett school system over the past 20 years, there's one name you probably hear at home over and over again: Chad Cabeceiras. He has been the physical education teacher at both of Mattapoisett's elementary schools, Center School and Old Hammondtown School. However, Mr. Cabeceiras is affectionately known simply as "Mr. C."

A Teacher Who Goes Above and Beyond

"Mr. C (as everyone calls him) is amazing with all of the students at all grade levels. He always goes above and beyond to include all kids and makes sure that everyone is having fun. My son looks forward to his gym class every week. He also puts a lot of effort every year into organizing the annual sixth-grade class basketball game against the staff. "Mr. C has been my daughter's PE teacher since first grade. She is now in sixth grade. He always finds a way to engage and motivate the kids. He has such amazing energy and humor. You can tell he loves what he does. During COVID, he even Zoomed with the kids and dressed up as different personas to get them moving and motivated to learn P.E. topics.
