Tiverton, RI Store Sells Europe’s Most Addictive Gluten-Free Potato Chips

My mother knows me well, especially when it comes to food. While doing a little small-business shopping at Groundswell Guild in Tiverton, Rhode Island, she spotted a bag of Bret’s Goat Cheese & Espelette Chili Pepper potato chips and instantly thought of me.

She knows more than anyone how much I love goat cheese, especially when it’s paired with red pepper. One of my favorite appetizers at any Portuguese restaurant is queijo fresco with pimenta moída, that beautiful combination of creamy cheese and spicy red pepper paste. I'm drooling as I'm typing, so forgive me if I wander off topic.

Anyway, the second she handed me the bag, I ripped it open. What happened next was somewhat shameful as I devoured the entire bag in a single sitting. Oops. These are easily some of the tastiest potato chips I’ve ever had.

Goat Cheese and Chili Pepper Are a Perfect Match

The flavor hits you right away with those smooth, buttery notes from the goat cheese, followed by a fine and mild warmth from the Espelette chili pepper. I wouldn’t call these spicy at all. There’s just enough warmth to wake up your taste buds before the creamy goat cheese flavor smooths everything back out.

Honestly, the combination reminded me quite a bit of queijo fresco and pimenta moída, just not nearly as spicy. Add in the crispy crunch of a potato chip, and I was hooked.
