Another cause for celebration here at Fun 107. Our Fun 107 family has grown once again this year as we welcome the birth of Drew Harper Levine. She was born yesterday at Women & Infants Hospital in Providence to our own Maddie Levine and her husband, Ross.

The little Levine weighed in at seven pounds and measured 20 inches long.

“I'm biased, but she is quite literally the most beautiful child to ever grace this earth,” the proud mother said.

Maddie called into The MGM Show live from her hospital room this morning.

The Origin of the Name

“We wanted to honor Ross’s grandmother. Her name is Dorothy, so we wanted to do a ‘D’ name and we just kept going back to the name Drew. It was different, it was spunky, and we just loved it," Maddie said. "We stumbled across the name Harper, and we were like boom, done! She's a little movie star. A spunky, funky little thing, Drew Harper. As soon as she came out, we were like, yeah, it fits her perfectly.”

Maddie’s Long Road to Motherhood

Maddie referred to Baby Drew as her "rainbow baby," a term used for a child born after the loss of a previous pregnancy.

“We've been pretty vocal about our journey. It’s been a tough road for us, like many families,” she said.

When asked if she had advice for others facing similar struggles, Maddie wished they could experience the same joy she and Ross are today.

“Giving advice is hard because everyone’s journey is different. But if you're trying to start a family and you're losing hope, I really, really pray for you," she said. "I hope you get your moment and that rainbow baby in your arms. My life is totally changed now.”

 First 24 Hours of Parenthood

“I realize I have a lot to learn," Maddie laughed. "The newborn 'number twos' are not my thing. Those are so gross. But the biggest thing is just loving them. We’re just so in love with her. We can’t put her down. The skin-to-skin is amazing. She’s got the softest baby skin. I’m just smelling her all the time.”

Michael’s Advice to Maddie

Michaela cut in before I could blurt it out.

“No! Don’t say it! Don’t say to sleep when the baby sleeps! It’s impossible!” she said.

Of course, I said it anyway.

“Definitely sleep when the baby sleeps," I said. "But right now while you're at the hospital, let her sleep in the nursery so you can get some rest!”

Congratulations to Maddie and Ross, and welcome to the world, Baby Drew. You are one loved little girl, I can promise you that!
