Fun 107’s Gazelle Shares His Baby Boy’s Birth Story

Gazelle's Family Welcomes a New Baby Boy
Gazelle and his wife enjoyed one of the best days of their lives yesterday as they welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. Baby Gazelle, whose name is yet to be determined, weighed in at five pounds, nine ounces.

After the show yesterday, we were hanging around in Gazelle’s office. It was a regular ol' Wednesday. Gazelle was certainly on high alert, as anyone would be with a wife who is eight and a half months pregnant, but I don't really think he woke up yesterday morning thinking that this would be the day he met his son.

"Take your phone off silent," I told Gazelle. "You never know."

What seemed like just a few minutes later, Gazelle’s phone rang. It was his wife. Her message?

"It’s go time."

Gazelle finished up the article he was working on, thinking there would be hours (or even a day or so) before the heavy-duty action started. He was mistaken.

Fast and Furious Delivery at St Luke's Hospital
By the time he and his wife got into the car, her contractions were coming in waves, one on top of another. There was a lot of breathing and a bit of anxiety when Gazelle couldn’t find a parking space near the hospital entrance. He dropped his wife off at the door and finally landed a spot some distance away.

"I started jogging toward the entrance, and my jog became a run," Gazelle said. "It’s a good thing I hurried, because if I had walked, she might have had the baby right there in the elevator!"

Gazelle told us his story live on The MGM Show from his St. Luke’s Hospital room. "They no sooner got her lying down in the delivery room when her water broke. That little guy wanted out," he said.

Talk about fast! Gazelle’s wife called him at 11:30 a.m. They were holding a baby boy by 3:01 p.m.

Gazelle reports that mommy and baby are doing fine and he said that "we are quickly learning" about things like diapers and 2 a.m. feedings. We're just waiting on that name!
