Longplex Family & Sports Center hosts a weekly walking group that promotes "gentle movement, good company, tips on healthy aging and a welcoming space to build community."
Longplex's Coffee, Conversation and Cardio events are a great way to keep your body going during the years when it can be easier said than done.

"Our hope is that a simple walk will turn into a consistent routine, a sense of accountability, and real social connection," Jenna Ouellette said.
Caffeine and Community
"Members gain physical benefits like improved mobility, balance, and endurance, but just as importantly, they gain confidence, friendships, and something to look forward to each week," Ouellette said.
No need to register or sign-up to participate in the weekly walk. If the mood strikes you that morning, swing by the front desk to check in.

"We know that walking is one of the safest and most accessible forms of movement and having a dedicated walking track gives people a controlled, predictable environment where they can feel confident and secure," Ouellette said.

Schedule
- 9 a.m. Meet in Sports Kitchen to enjoy a cup of coffee with other participants.
- 9:20 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. 30-minute indoor walk at your own pace
- 9:50 a.m. to 10 a.m. Gentle stretching and mobility exercises to support strength and independence
"Our goal is to make movement social, safe, and genuinely enjoyable for adults who are seeking activity and connection," Ouellette said.
