Christmas Tree Shops Sign Saved at Cape Cod Cafe

A piece of nostalgia has found new life on Cape Cod. When you step inside Press Ahead Coffee in Sandwich, you'll be stepping back in time. Not only will you be greeted by their friendly staff, but by a massive sign from the beloved Christmas Tree Shops.

Saving Cape Cod History From Ending Up in a Private Man Cave

"This sign is a fabulous reminder of the memories and tradition that the Christmas Tree Shops brought to Cape Cod," Press Ahead Coffee owner Jim Pressman said. "We feared that it would end up in someone's man cave or move off Cape, making it inaccessible to the community that loves it most. We're honored to own this piece of local history and keep the spirit of the Christmas Tree Shops alive for generations to come."

Habitat for Humanity Auction Funds Local Affordable Housing

Habitat For Humanity of Cape Cod acquired two Christmas Tree Shops signs thanks to a donation from Greg Bilezikian, Manager of Turtle Rock LLC. An online auction was then held with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod.

Press Ahead Coffee's winning bid of $3,398 brought the Hyannis sign to its location. The other sign was won by design-build firm The Coastal Companies in Eastham.

Restoring the 400-Bulb Sign for a September 24 Lighting Ceremony

The Christmas Tree Shops sign at Press Ahead Coffee was in need of a little TLC. "We had an electrician inspect it for safety and add a cord, switch and almost 400 new bulbs," Pressman said. Now, the sign can shine bright for their customers.

Press Ahead Coffee will even hold an official Christmas Tree (sign) lighting on the morning of September 24.
