Tiverton, Rhode Island Has a New Salt Cave
Relax and unwind at the brand new salt cave in Tiverton, Rhode Island.
Located inside Longplex Family & Sports Center, this space encourages visitors to rest, read, listen to music, meditate or simply sit and reap the benefits of halotherapy.
Salt caves date back to the 19th century and the practice continues to be popular because of its health benefits. Halotherapy is the process of inhaling salt-infused air to improve respiratory health. Dry salt therapy is anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.
Many have found relief from conditions like asthma, allergies, COPD, sinus infection and chronic bronchitis by incorporating salt cave visits into their treatment. It can even help your skin. Dry salt therapy has shown to improve eczema, acne and rosacea.
However, you don't need to have a preexisting respiratory or skin condition to enjoy the relaxing space that the team at Longplex has added into their building. The dim lights and tranquil atmosphere can help reduce stress, anxiety and fatigue.
Those looking to visit the salt cave are encouraged to wear loose, comfortable clothing. There are no shoes or electronics allowed in the room and anyone enjoying the space should be respectful of others sharing in the relaxation.
The new salt cave at Longplex Family & Sports Center opens this week. A 55-minute session in the salt cave costs $45 per person and includes a day pass to the fitness center and access to steam room, sauna, showers and locker rooms.
Reservations can be made at the front desk.
