SouthCoast Women Can Walk Their Way to Fitness, Friendship and Coffee
Looking to get moving in the new year? How about a different workout to incorporate into your routine? Maybe you're finding it hard to make friend connections in the area?
South Coast Girls Walk could be just what you're looking for.
A new group is coming to the area, created by two friends, Erica Richard and Sam Destremps, who want to give women a chance to walk, talk and sip their way along different routes.

The two grew up in the SouthCoast, but moved away and were reunited when they returned to the area in their mid-twenties. "From workout classes to craft nights and travel (and A LOT of coffee) we've spent the last few years reacquainting ourselves with the area, finding cute coffee shops and fitness studios along the way" Destremps said.
In addition to reaping the health benefits of walking, ladies who take part can also enter an atmosphere of others who are hoping to connect and possibly spark up a new friendship. They admit, it can be hard to make new friends in your 20s, 30s and beyond, and this group takes the pressure off.
Additionally, the walking routes will take participants to different areas, including local coffee shops. It's a great way to support SouthCoast businesses while enjoying a brief rest along the way.
They took to Facebook to gauge interest, see what days and times work best for those interested, and suggestions for coffee shops. One response even mentioned wanting to bring their dog along, which was met with enthusiasm.
"We're excited to connect with new people who share our interests, support local businesses, and (hopefully) make lasting friends along the way" Destremps said.
They plan to start their walks when the weather gets nicer. Hopefully it will be here before you know it. In the meantime, if you're interested, check out their Facebook group to share your interest and get a feel for some of the spots you may be visiting this spring.
