So many first-year students will get their syllabus and run straight for the bookstore to stock up on exactly what they need.

However, Lindsey Bernier shared her advice for saving a few bucks.

"Don’t buy that $300 textbook from the campus store and wait til the first day of class to see if you even need it. And don’t buy books from the campus store. Use Amazon."

Reagan Warren also kept the budget in mind.

"No need to live on campus if you don’t need to… you can have just as much fun commuting, also, you can just stay in your friend’s dorms who do live there."

Paige Santos shared her advice.

"Make sure you show up to class, stay organized, have a gap between classes for homework or a snack."

Ruth Swiszcz had just three simple words for college freshmen.

"Don't over-party."

Esabel De Sousa hoped the young students would stay safe.

"Ladies, stay away from the boys and parties."

Jacob Brier also weighed in to share some words of wisdom.

"Don’t enroll in AM classes thinking 'if I have to get up in the morning, I won’t party every night.'"
