You might not think so, but Massachusetts residents are less interested in the pumpkin spice craze than folks in many other states. Rhode Islanders are even less interested.

How do I know this? I found a survey while searching online to find out when pumpkin spice-flavored iced coffee and other drinks, such as lattes, would be back for the fall season. It is August, after all.

Let me confess that I am more of a Dunkin' iced coffee kind of guy and not so much for Starbucks lattes, but that's just my personal preference and not necessarily an endorsement.

The survey was conducted by Bid-On-Equipment.com. For purposes of full disclosure, the survey is two years old, but I believe it helps understand America's obsession with pumpkin spice-flavored drinks.

The site asks, "Which states are the most obsessed with pumpkin spice lattes (PSL)?"

BoE says, "We wanted to know how Americans really feel about pumpkin spice lattes, so we analyzed Google search data to find out which states and cities are the most obsessed, and what their favorite type of PSL is."

In addition, the site also surveyed Americans to "get their opinions" on pumpkin spice lattes.

The poll also finds, "69% think August is too early to start selling PSLs. 51% think coffee shops should begin selling them in September, and 33% think they should start being sold in October."

Twenty-eight percent believe pumpkin spice lattes should be sold year-round.
