Huffington Post Offers Perspective On Newtown From A Mother Dealing With Her Son’s Mental Illness

As the gruesome details of Friday's shootings were released, everyone in America said the same thing. How? How could this have happened? Obviously, mental illness came into play. It only makes sense. What person in their right mind could possibly want to hurt little children?

Adam Lanza's mother warned others about his mental issues, yet she still reportedly brought him to a firing range and gave him access to her guns. While I find this completely puzzling, I do not know first hand what it is like to live with and raise a child with mental instability.
