This Motivational Quote and Euphoric Moment From Gazelle Will Have You Reconsidering Bad Habits

Throughout my life, I'll sometimes surprise myself. Today was one of those days.

When it comes to inspirational and motivational quotes, sayings, and even music, I thrive on the philosophical undertones. Whether I'm at my desk working, lifting weights at the gym, or even having a simple conversation on the radio- it's exhilarating when something makes a connection.

It's even deeper when my brain musters up something brilliant and I think I might have stumbled upon something brilliant.

It's safe to say that a majority of people on this planet strive to pursue a common goal- being known for something great. Whether that greatness comes from strength, success, or even words, leaving behind a legacy is a rush of dopamine.

Earlier this morning, I was prepping the show. I had a lukewarm cup of coffee and I was working strong at 100% on the alertness scale. I'm not sure what my intern had said, but the next words to come out of my mouth were unforgettable:

"Don't grate the cheese,
if the cheese isn't great."

Sure it's silly sounding, but take a deep dive with me for a moment. It's a fun play one the words "grate" and "great", but the meaning behind it profoundly makes sense. Can you tell I surprised myself with this one?

Simply put, don't waste your energy on something that's not worth the energy. Wise words from a wise man (at least that's what Drake once said back in 2010). These days, we constantly seek approval from people who oftentimes never reciprocate the amount of effort we initially put in. The only approval you should be seeking is from yourself; self-love to be exact.

So, the next time you find yourself fed up with someone, a situation, or life in general, ask yourself if the "cheese" is worth the grate. You'll thank me and yourself in the long run.
