As a 6'4" man, I can say with confidence that my height comes with its perks.

For one, you've got a great view and better visibility at concerts, sports events, or just out in a crowd. When it comes to sports, I thrive on the basketball or volleyball court where height can be a significant advantage. Even in the industrious world of fashion and modeling, taller individuals are often preferred for their ability to showcase clothing effectively.

Not that I would ever be a model, but if the shoe fits (pun intended).

Most importantly, I'd have to say that my height advantage allows me to have a better reach for things in high places. I have never needed a stool or a chair for assistance, and when it comes to grocery stores, I'm pretty good at reaching the food on the top shelves.

More than one occurrence, just in the past three weeks, I've been asked by someone shorter than me or an elderly woman to help reach a box of oatmeal on the top shelf for her. As odd as it sounds, it gave me newfound purpose and delight. Perhaps it's because I can use my height to my advantage, but knowing I helped someone effortlessly that particular day was enough to put a smile on my face.

The last thing I'm going to say is if you're someone who lacks the height required to reach the cookies on the top shelf, and you see me at Market Basket, don't be shy. Ask for a hand and I'll be more than happy to reach for the stars.
