It's truly amazing what you can accomplish with dedication and a strong mindset.

Welcome to a quick yet rewarding update on my health. Only 37 days into the year, I've never felt better.

When I began my "dry journey" back in December 2022, I would have never imagined reaching Day 50. Not that I ever had a problem with alcohol, I just wanted to cut out the social drinking for health benefits.

I reached a milestone on Feb. 6 for completing 50 days without a drop of alcohol and I'm determined to keep the ball rolling. I've dropped a good 10 pounds and I've never slept better. Even on the weekends, I'm waking before my alarm clock and well before my fiancee with more energy than anyone should have in the morning, but I'm not complaining.

I've also noticed a trend of non-alcoholic beers lately. To be quite honest, I don't mind them. It's nice to have something to sip on during social gatherings. Most importantly, there are zero embarrassments and an uptick in social acceptance. My support system could not be stronger and for that I'm grateful.

Will this be forever?

Probably not.

That said, from here on out, I'll be making much better decisions and focusing on moderation. Not only does sober look and feel amazing on me, but my friends and family are also starting to notice and agree. Let's just say that this has been a long time coming and I'm glad I took a leap of faith when I did.

Nothing but bigger and better things in my future and it all starts with putting "me" first.

SouthCoast Restaurants Offering Fireside Dining

When the weather gets cold, nothing sounds better than warming yourself by a fire. Unless, of course, you also get to have dinner and drinks by that fire. Luckily, there are plenty of restaurants on the SouthCoast and beyond where you can ease your hunger while sitting hearthside.
