One of my very favorite fashion designer's Betsey Johnson, will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

According to PageSix, the announcement was made on Monday by the President of the fashion trade industry, Diane von Furstenberg and Nadja Swarovski of the Swarovski Group.

Johnson's selection was announced along with the nominees and honorees for this year's 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards.

The award comes at a perfect time for Johnson.  As this year marks her 50th year in the fashion world.  Betsey started her whimsical brand back in 1978. Then in 2004, she expanded her line to include pocketbooks, jewelry, perfume, sunglasses, and shoes.  I must admit, I own many pieces from every single one of those items listed above.  I think I'm a little obsessed.  What I love most about Betsey's designs is that they are bright, fun and sometimes a little extravagant, and I think her brand fits my personality very well.  Plus, I find that she is one of the more affordable designers out there, so I can actually buy her things without going broke!

The CFDA Fashion Awards will be taking place in New York at the Lincoln Center on June 1st.  Congratulations Betsey!
