This Gilded Age Mansion Now Offers a Gilded Age Dining Experience
For anyone with a serious obsession with HBO's "The Gilded Age" Newport now has even more ways for you to immerse yourself in the era of opulence.
One of the show's most prominent film sets is The Elms on Bellevue Ave in Newport. Now, not only can you tour the beautiful home turned museum, you can dine there too.
A new French-inspired café recently opened at the back of the 10-acre property and the Carriage House at the Elms dining experience is one show fans simply must try.
As an avid viewer of each "The Gilded Age" season, I find myself falling in love with the excessive lifestyle these mega-rich Newport residents enjoyed.

Fancy parties, multi-course dinners and constant lavish redecorating seemed the best ways to occupy one's time and these ideas have come together at The Carriage House at the Elms.
Dine in an 18th-Century-Inspired Carriage House
It's a stunning restaurant/café inside the property's actual carriage house and guests can come for everything from tea and cakes to sit-down dinners with wine pairings.
Where you eat is also optional, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The choice is a tough one however, since each location offers very different vibes.
Indoor or Outdoor? A Tale of Two Dining Vibes
Inside things have a roaring 20s feel with rounded light fixtures, tiled walls and leather bench seats.
Outside the stony courtyard seating makes you feel as though you've traveled to France.
Not terribly surprising considering The Elms was modeled after an 18th-century French chateau. All the ornate interiors are still on display for those who take the daily tours and many can be seen in "The Gilded Age" each season.
