With over 1500 miles of shoreline and more than 1900 beaches throughout the state, finding a spot to hit the sand isn't usually an issue. Finding a quieter, more peaceful spot, however, can take some searching.

What to Expect at These Secluded Spots

Admittedly not all of the beaches on our list are easy to get to. Finding peace and quiet may take a bit more work than your average state-run beach trip. You'll also have to make do with no snack shacks, no bathrooms and often, no lifeguards.
