Classrooms around the world look entirely different than they did back in 2019. This academic year has shown many challenges, but teachers everywhere have faced them with grace and for that, we cannot thank them enough.

A teacher on the SouthCoast decided to show his students some holiday cheer when the weather prevented the party from happening as planned. Mr. Darin Morano is a third-grade teacher at East Taunton Elementary School. We couldn’t help but smile while reading his nomination.

“Mr. Morano has gone above and beyond for all of his students. In this difficult environment, he has managed to engage and connect with all of his students and help them to do their very best by being creative and fun, while still delivering the education the students need and deserve. On top of that, when the class was to enjoy a fun day of treats and holiday celebrations, the snow forced a cancellation. But he didn't let that stop him. Mr. Morano personally delivered the homemade cookies to each of his students while wearing a festive hat and bringing cheer! He has also found brilliant ways of helping my daughter specifically who has shown attention issues, which have only been exasperated in the remote environment. But he has dedicated himself to helping her with tools and engagement and thinking of new ways to help. He has truly made a significant impact on her education this year and deserves more than just teacher of the month!”

Congratulations to Mr. Morano for being Fun 107's SouthCoast Teacher of the Month for March of 2021. As the winner of this month’s award, Mr. Morano will receive a gift card for $100 to Amazon so he can continue to make this classroom a fun place to learn. A special thank you to our sponsor Spindle City Auto Glass for helping to make this classroom even better.

Michael and Maddie wish to share this video with Mr. Morano:

If your child’s teacher is one of those amazing human beings that goes above and beyond for their students and deserves some recognition this year, nominate him or her for the SouthCoast Teacher of the Month award HERE. They may be as lucky as Mr. Morano.
