Guacamole lovers rejoice! The avocado shortage that has been going on for nearly a year is almost over.

If you, like me, have noticed fewer and fewer avocados in the supermarket and the price of those avocados skyrocketing in 2016, you maybe thrilled to know that should soon change.

A grower's strike in Mexico has left American retailers struggling to keep up with the popular fruit demands, but the shelves may soon be stocked again at a store near you.

Avocado pickers went back to work last month and in recent weeks over 50-million pounds of avocados made their way to the U.S.

So with supplies finally increasing, hopefully prices will start decreasing and we can all get back to eating the super-fruit we love!
