It’s the debate that never ends, with seemingly no right answer. But this conflict continues to make its rounds, dividing the masses between who is right and who isn't.

Which way should the toilet paper hang?

It’s a heated discussion that recently broke out in my own home, and we need help settling it once and for all.

“How long have we been together?” asked my fiancé, Ross, the other day as he walked out of the bathroom.

“Three years,” I answered. The smirk on his face told me that something sarcastic was about to come out of his mouth.

“Then you should know by now which way I like the toilet paper to go,” he snarled. He was kidding around, but underneath the joke, there was a slice of truth. I reluctantly went over to the toilet paper roll to see what he saw, and the roll was exactly how I put it. The loose end rolled over the top.

“It should be rolled under,” he stated.

I rolled my eyes and explained to him that it is common knowledge for the toilet paper to be rolled over for easy grabbing capability.

He disagreed, and basically blamed the cats. When Marley was a kitten, she loved to claw at the loose end of the roll, grab it with her mouth, and drag it around the house. Ross is convinced that if the toilet paper is rolled under, Marley will not be able to go about her shenanigans.

Mind you, Marley is three years old now and has grown out of her kitten antics.

While most adults would just agree to disagree, we are far too competitive for that, so we need you to settle the score.

Which way is the correct way?
