Lemonade Day is a national initiative that teaches children about the principles of entrepreneurship and how to own a business. The kids get to decide if they want to spend, save, or donate their profits. This event will take place on the SouthCoast on Saturday, May 4. Most of our stands have pledged to donate a portion of their profits to a local charity, but two have chosen a pretty special cause.

Littles2Luv is a local project that intends to get baby dolls in nursing homes in order to assist patients who suffer from dementia. Local nursing homes have even held “baby showers” where residents can adopt their own doll, complete with birth certificates that allow them to name their new baby.

Girls Just Wanna Sell Lemonade will be located at 239 Huttleston Ave (Care Free Homes) and Lil Kids Makin' Moves will set up at 114 Huttleston Ave (West Marine). Both of these stands believe that Littles2Luv is a cause they should get behind.

Care Free Homes created an event page on Facebook to let the community know about their stand.

“Care Free Homes is excited to host Lemonade Day SouthCoast team, Girls Just Wanna Sell Lemonade! Lola, Delaney, and Sunny Chase will be serving up refreshing lemonade and delicious treats with a smile! The Chase girls will donate part of their lemonade proceeds to the Littles2Luv Project, a local initiative that donates therapeutic baby dolls to dementia patients. Stop by their lemonade stand to help support this wonderful community program!”
