Lakeville Tulip Farm Brings Flowers to Nursing Home Residents
'Tis the season for tiptoeing through the tulip fields. But what about the elderly folks in Massachusetts who aren't able to make the trip to the farm this year, especially because of COVID? One tulip farm in Lakeville made sure these folks could enjoy the spoils of spring by bringing the flowers to them.
Golden Hour Tulip Farm opened for the season earlier this month and asked its Facebook followers where they should donate 1200 tulips. The response was overwhelming, with most commenters urging the farm to deliver to local nursing homes.
Despite the hustle and bustle of operating a tulip farm amidst increasingly beautiful weather on the SouthCoast, the folks at Golden Hour visited seven nursing homes this week, delivering gorgeous bulbs in red, pink and yellow varieties. They traveled to nursing homes from Middleboro to Wrentham, and by the look of these photos from their adventures and the smiles on residents' faces, the trip was well worth it.
Here's a full list of all the spots that were lucky enough to get a visit from the folks at Golden Hour Tulips Farm:
- All American Assisted Living in Raynham
- Hannah B.G. Shaw Home in Middleboro
- The Arbors Assisted Living in Taunton
- Southeast Rehab in Easton
- The Residence at 5 Corners in North Easton
- The Village at Willow Crossing in Mansfield
- Maples Rehab and Nursing Center in Wrentham
- Taunton Police Station
Golden Hour Tulip Farm also visited Morton Hospital in Taunton at the beginning of the pandemic to donate tulips to nurses on the COVID floor.
