
DA Identifies Brockton Woman Recovered From Lakeville Pond
Authorities have identified the Brockton woman who died after falling from a jet ski in a Lakeville pond on Tuesday.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz announced the victim as Daisha Murphy, 25, of Brockton.
Freetown Police received a 911 call at about 5:46 p.m. on June 30 from a person stating they were boating on Long Pond in Lakeville and saw people riding on two jet skis. One of the jet skis with two female riders tipped over, and one of the riders did not resurface.

Emergency Response to Long Pond
Massachusetts State Police, Lakeville Police, Freetown Police and Massachusetts Environmental Police responded to the scene and could not locate the victim. The State Police Air Wing Unit was also utilized.
Recovery of Brockton Resident Daisha Murphy
At about 12:40 a.m. today, Murphy’s body was located by the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) Marine Unit, about 125 yards from shore in five feet of water.
Murphy Was Not Wearing a Life Jacket
Cruz said she was not wearing a life jacket at the time of the incident, which remains under investigation.
