Lakeville Police Respond to Incident Leading to Officer-Involved Shooting

LAKEVILLE (WBSM) — Lakeville Police are reporting an officer-involved shooting following an incident with an armed man earlier today.

Police Response to Heritage Hill Drive Incident

According to a police press release, officers responded this afternoon to a residence on Heritage Hill Drive after receiving a report of a disturbed person who may be under the influence and armed with a firearm.

Officer-Involved Shooting and Hospitalizations

During the response, an officer-involved shooting took place. Police did not specify exactly who was shot, but did say officers immediately rendered aid to an injured man, who was then taken to an area hospital for treatment.

Two Lakeville Police officers were also taken to the hospital for evaluation. No information was provided about the condition of any of those taken to the hospital.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

State Police Lead Ongoing Investigation

The incident remains under investigation by Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
