Missing Brockton Jet Skier Recovered in Lakeville

LAKEVILLE (WBSM) — First responders pulled the body of a missing jet skier from Long Pond in Lakeville early this morning.

According to Lakeville Police Chief Matthew Perkins, the body of the 24-year-old Brockton woman was pulled from the pond at about 12:30 a.m. Her name is not being released at this time.

Lakeville Police and the Lakeville Fire Department responded at about 6 p.m. on June 30 to Long Pond in the area of Nelson Island and Big Beach for reports that a passenger had fallen from a jet ski.

Multi-Agency Search Mobilized at Long Pond

The Massachusetts State Police Air Wing Unit, the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (SEMLEC) Dive Team, the Plymouth County Dive Team, and Massachusetts Environmental Police assisted in the search.

Investigation Ongoing

Perkins said the investigation remains ongoing by Lakeville Police, Environmental Police, and State Police detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
