This Boat Is Being Washed Up All Over The Southcoast
First in Mattapoisett, now in Freetown. This boat is resurfacing all around the Southcoast. Where will we find it next?
Wareham's Harbormaster is baffled after a motorboat that was abandoned on the side of the road near Route 6 in Mattapoisett last week has now been found again in a state forest in Freetown.
According to Wareham Harbormaster Garry Buckminster, someone reported finding the white-and-blue boat in the woods Sunday night, on a recreational trail. “This boat just doesn’t want to go away,” Buckminster told the Boston Globe. “It’s like when a ghost ship just keeps reappearing in the movies. That’s what it is."
Here's the Wareham Harbormaster posing with the boat!
Where will the boat turn up next? It has been spotted in Mattapoisett, Freetown, Marion and Wareham.
Massachusetts Environmental Police are investigating the situation and are asking that anyone with information about the vessel contact officials.
