Elliot Farm Expansion Aims to Boost Food Access in Massachusetts
Elliot Farm is growing. The Lakeville farmstand is currently going through an expansion that will allow it to increase local food access, strengthen sustainability and better serve its community.
What the Elliot Farm Expansion Includes
“This expansion is about so much more than improving a building," owner Dee Elliot said. "It’s about creating a stronger, more welcoming, and more accessible farm for our customers while also expanding our ability to get fresh, local food into the hands of the families who need it most."
How the FSIG Grant Supports Food Access
The expansion project was funded in part through the Massachusetts Food Security Infrastructure Grant (FSIG) program, helping ensure access to food across Massachusetts.
"With support from FSIG, these improvements will help us grow our impact, strengthen local food access, and better serve our community for years to come,” Elliot said.

Impact on Local Families and Food Security
“Elliot Farm is an essential partner in our shared mission to reduce food insecurity across Southeastern Massachusetts," Farm & Community Collaborative, Inc. Board President Patricia Rose said. "These improvements will directly strengthen our Farm to Family program, which will provide free CSA shares to 175 families in 2026."
Timeline for Completion and Opening
The farm hopes to have the work completed this spring with the space fully open in May 2026.
"By expanding the farm’s infrastructure and capacity, this project helps ensure that more families can access fresh, healthy, locally grown food with dignity and consistency," Rose said.
