SouthCoast Singers Compete in Karaoke Finals

You've done it before. Sing in the car, belt your heart out in the shower, hum a catchy little tune in your head all day.

For some SouthCoast residents, the vocal talents stop there. For others, their vocal abilities are off the charts. These singers can rock the stage and they have for weeks in Tiverton.

Karaoke Competition Features Local Talent

Longplex Family & Sports Center has been welcoming talented singers each Friday night to compete in their "Karaoke Star of the Stage" competition. Each week, a variety of song have been sung, complete with crowd interaction and plenty of heart.

Finalists were selected each week, creating a group that go on to compete in the finals on Friday, April 4.

Well, were here now. Finals night at Longplex has arrived. Beginning at 8:30 p.m. tonight, you can watch the best of the best battle it out for the title. Oh, and did I mention the grand prize? A cool $3,000 for the winner!

Judging the Competition

Fun 107's Michaela Johnson will join a panel of judges to determine a winner. Each contestants will receive a 1-10 rating and will be judged on the following:

• Vocal ability
• Stage presence
• Crowd engagement
• Overall performance

After hearing all singers, the judges panel will gather and a final three will be announced. The crowd will then applaud their favorites before the judges determine a winner.
