Ice hockey season may be winding down, but street hockey and roller hockey season is heating up in Rhode Island.

The National Hockey League's Official Youth Street Hockey League is offering an eight-week-long league at Longplex Family & Sports Center in Tiverton this spring.

From April through June, youth players (or those interested in trying the sport) can work on their hockey skills – sans skates. That's right, no skates in this league, which means you'll really be working on your skills.

Kids of all ages and genders are welcome to sign up for the NHL Street Hockey League at Longplex. NHL Street "brings new style, energy, and gameplay to the sport of hockey. We’re creating an affordable, neighborhood-based model that gives kids everywhere an opportunity to learn and play."

Participants of the league will work on stickhandling, footwork, game strategy and build their confidence in the sport.

Registration for the eight-week league is open now with the option of upgrading to include an NHL Street jersey.

The league kicks off Monday, April 21, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
