Southern New Englanders can agree: no flower's arrival is more anticipated than the daffodil.

After a long (and often brown) winter, that first burst of yellow feels like an instant mood booster. So when entire fields begin to bloom, it’s only natural that we celebrate—literally.

Across the region, weeks-long daffodil events are popping up this month, and dedicated flower fans could easily make a tour of them.

Newport Daffodil Days 2026

Perhaps the biggest celebration of them all is Newport’s Daffodil Days, which runs throughout April.

Even with some blooms still on the way, the city isn't slowing down. The calendar is packed with events, like the Doggie Paw-rade on April 11 at Bannister Wharf, the Daffy Rhode Races on April 18 at Easton’s Beach, and the Daffy Bike Ride on April 25, starting at Touro Park.

With an estimated three million blooms, this island transforms into a sea of yellow. Signature events include the antique car parade, the Daffy Flower Hat pageant, and a classic garden club flower show.
