With America's 250th anniversary right around the corner, Rhode Island has found a unique way to celebrate.

Interactive travel planners, My Fresh Adventures and Fresh Maps, have teamed up to host RI 250 Quest, a ten-week-long, statewide scavenger hunt that sends you across the Ocean State to learn about Rhode Island's revolutionary past.

The companies call the quest "a once-in-250-year opportunity" and the hunt leads right up to America's monumental birthday.

What is the RI 250 Quest?

Forget the scavenger hunts from your school days, this epic adventure leads competitors through eight Rhode Island towns throughout May, June and July. All the clues and maps you need are obtained using the MooveGo XR app on your smartphone or tablet, so the quest can be completed on your own time.

Those participating can either go it alone or create a team of 1 to 4 players with everyone receiving t-shirts, swag bags and tickets while competing against other teams for prizes, points and glory!

How Much Does the RI 250 Quest Cost?

While the adventure across Rhode Island uncovering historic hidden gems and learning legendary secrets of the past sounds amazing, it does come at a cost.

It costs $25 per adventure, totaling $250 if you want to compete in all ten adventures within the quest.

How the Adventure Works

However, if you've always wanted to learn more about Rhode Island's ties to the American Revolution or just want a good excuse to get out and explore this spring, this quest sounds perfect.

Each adventure will have you answering trivia questions, solving puzzles, and playing mini-games to earn points. The more points you earn, the more chances of winning prizes donated by local small businesses and historical societies.

Which Rhode Island Towns Are Included in RI 250 Quest?

Competitors will travel to Providence, Warwick, Portsmouth, North Kingstown, Bristol, East Greenwich, and Newport taking self-guided driving or walking tours of spots where history really happened.

For those who think eight towns is too many, My Fresh Adventures lets you choose individual city and town quests too. For $25 you can receive clues for just one location's quest, exploring only the spots you want to.

When and How to Complete the RI 250 Quest

The quest will run from May 3, 2026 through July 11, 2026, with prizes awarded at the end of the ten weeks.

For those traveling to Rhode Island this summer, the site says all ten can be completed in one week and you don't have to finish by July 11 to participate. Clues and maps will remain active on the MooveGo XR app through the end of the year, so you can explore on your own time.

The RI 250 Quest seems like a great way to enjoy the Ocean State this spring and summer, while also celebrating America's history.
