There is town in Rhode Island that now is fining homeowners for tall grass on thier property. The fine is actually on the form of a lien on the property, and can be issued if the grass grows beyond a foot.

After being notified, property owners in Coventry then have 10 days to mow the grass. If they don't, the town may send an  employee to mow it, then place a lien on the property for the cost of the work.

Is this fair, I was thinking about it and the only time i think it would bother me is if it was the house next to mine. Unkept property makes the home look abandoned  to me. Whats your thoughts?
