It is hard to believe that it's been 5 years since we had to crack the Fun Morning Show microphones and deliver some of the hardest words we've ever uttered on the air. Our friend and co-worker, the young, energetic, Sharon Fogaren, had passed away. How could it be? Just two weeks prior to getting the news, Sharon was her normal self...a picture of health...and of life. We were stunned when we were told that she had suffered a heart complication in the early morning hours of August 20th, 2009. The diagnosis was grim. After the devastating heart event, doctor's weren't optimistic that Sharon would live for more than a week of two. But Sharon was a fighter. She held on for nearly two weeks before finally coming to rest.

Since Sharon's passing, Fun 107 listeners have remembered her with the annual Sharon's Walk at Fort Taber. This year, Fun 107 is hosting The Insane Inflatable 5K at UMASS Dartmouth. I will be leading the 11 o'clock wave in Sharon's memory. Sharon's Wave will benefit the so very important Southcoast Breast Center's breast care program. Hours after mentioning Sharon's Wave on the air for the first time...hundreds of Fun 107 listeners registered to be a part of Sharon's Wave and to give back. Sharon's Wave sold out in days. If you'd like to run with Sharon's Wave...you can still purchase an All Access Pass that would allow you to run in any wave (even if it is full).
