Police Say Bridgewater Man Stole Gold Chain From His Grandmother’s Corpse
Back on January 28th, 25-year-old Shawn Michael Wilde walked into a Bridgewater funeral home and allegedly removed a $5,000 gold chain from around his grandmother's neck as she lay in her casket.
When he left, the funeral director noticed the 18-inch chain, which held her husband's wedding band formed into a heart, was missing. The man had already left by the time police arrived, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He turned himself in over the weekend. Wilde plead not guilty at his arraignment yesterday, and was held on $2,500 bail.
