Fall River’s Stolen Belmont Club Cactus Has Finally Been Returned
Well, Fall River’s mysterious “Cactus Bandits” story has officially come to an end.
After social media lit up over the theft of a cactus centerpiece from The Belmont Club, the missing plant has finally made its way back home. According to the Belmont Club, the couple involved returned the cactus after what was likely a lot of online heat surrounding the incident.
It's confirmed: The centerpiece had been safely returned and said the individuals involved apologized and “corrected the situation.”
‘Case Closed’ at The Belmont Club
“Our missing cactus has been returned!” the Belmont Club shared online. “We greatly appreciate that the individuals who took the plant saw the error in their ways and apologetically corrected the situation.”
The restaurant also thanked the overwhelming number of people online and loyal customers who helped spread the word and support the business throughout the bizarre ordeal.

The Belmont Club added that the situation meant a lot because of the effort they put into creating a welcoming atmosphere inside the historic Fall River establishment.
No Charges Filed, But Lesson Learned
No charges have been filed against the couple involved, and thankfully this unusual story ended peacefully.
Still, as funny and oddly specific as the theft may have seemed, the principle remains the same: stealing is stealing, whether it’s a giant lawn gnome, a cactus centerpiece or anything in between. Either way, you have to admit, returning the cactus after the entire internet spent the last 24-hours talking about you has to be one of the most uncomfortable walks of shame imaginable.
Case officially closed.
