People do weird things when they drink, but this one truly tops the hops.

Over in Fall River, at St. James Irish Pub – a place known for serving up some of the best wings around – a mysterious woman was caught red-handed in crystal clear 4K on a camera most regulars didn’t even know existed.

Her alleged crime? Stealing the pub’s gnome.

The Curse of the Missing Gnome

According to the pub’s Facebook post, the tiny statue was swiped while the woman walked through the restaurant, unaware she was being recorded. The pub immediately posted a playful but firm message asking for the gnome to be returned.

That's where things get interesting.

One commenter claimed that stealing a gnome comes with seven years of bad luck. Now I can’t confirm the science behind that, but personally, I wouldn’t tempt fate over a bar decoration.

A Strange Trend of Sticky Fingers

Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of something like this.

It reminds me of when salt and pepper shakers disappeared from Pine House Kitchen in Tiverton or when condiments mysteriously walked out of the now-closed Bootleg BBQ.

Maybe it’s the alcohol that makes people do strange things, but one thing remains true: stealing is still stealing, "gnome matter" how you look at it.
