SouthCoast Kids Can Get Free Haircuts and Backpacks for School in Fall River
Once again, a Fall River barbershop and salon are making sure local kids head back to school looking fresh and ready for a new year.
Shear Genius Barbershop and Ms. Shear Genius Salon are celebrating the 11th annual "Back 2 School Backpack Giveaway," continuing a tradition that has been helping families in the community for more than a decade.
Giving back has always been important to Shear Genius owner Luis Gonsalves and his wife, Stacey Gonsalves, owner and founder of Juiced Cafe and Ms. Shear Genius. Since opening on Plymouth Avenue, the Gonsalves family has made supporting Fall River a priority, especially when it comes to local kids.

Free Haircuts and Backpacks in Fall River
This year's event takes place Sunday, August 23, beginning at 9 a.m. at Shear Genius, located at 1475 Plymouth Avenue in Fall River.
Kids can receive a free haircut and a free backpack, while supplies last. Everything is first come, first served, so families hoping to take advantage of the giveaway are encouraged to arrive early.

Shear Genius, Miss Shear Genius and Juiced Cafe are joined by several community partners this year, all coming together for one simple goal: helping local families start the school year on the right foot. Eleven years later, the tradition is still going strong.
