Congratulations to Samantha Nicolosi. The recent graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School is heading to UMass Boston next month to pursue a dual degree in Biology and Pre-Med.

Samantha was awarded this year's $5,000 Jack Peterson Scholarship. She played volleyball for the Lady Bulldogs and earned a 4.2 GPA at ORR. She is also a competitive figure skater outside of school.

Samantha earned her way into the honors program at UMass Boston. She says she is looking forward to meeting all of the new people at the school and experiencing all of the benefits that the honors program offers to the school's top tier students.

Samantha's mother Deborah is the art teacher at the Leroy Wood School in Fairhaven. Her father Carmello is an engineer for Sharon Associates in Rochester.

Fun 107 has given away $5,000 scholarships to SouthCoast graduating seniors every year for the five years since the passing of Jack Peterson. Jack was the voice of local high school sports for decades here on the SouthCoast.

Our Friday Night Lights tour visited local high school football games every week in the fall to sign up seniors for the scholarship.

Friday Night Lights is made possible through the help of our community sponsors, including Rose Homes Real Estate, PrimaCare Orthopedics, and ProGroup Contracting, with additional support from Care Free Homes.
