Lafrance Hospitality Opens Fairfield Inn at Base of Cranmore Mountain Resort
If you frequent the North Conway, New Hampshire, area for skiing and shopping in the winter or excursions to Santa's Village and Story Land in the summer, there is a familiar name to watch out for the next time you take the ride up I-93 to Route 16.
Lafrance Hospitality has extended its footprint up to the Cranmore Mountain Resort area.
Lafrance Hospitality is the company that owns White's of Westport and the adjacent Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn in downtown New Bedford, and local restaurants such as Merrill's on the Waterfront in New Bedford and Ten Cousins and Bittersweet Farm in Westport.
The brand-new, 88-room Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott opened this week at the base of Cranmore Mountain. Richard Lafrance, owner of Lafrance Hospitality, said that opening a hotel at this location brought nostalgic feelings for him.
“From learning to ski at an early age, to tubing with my great-grandson, our family had spent countless hours on the mountain. Knowing our hotel is adjacent to where so much of the action took place is a continuous tribute to the Cranmore Mountain heritage.”
The hotel will be a place where guests can walk out to fun winter activities including skiing and tubing. There is also mountain biking, hiking and more during the summer months at Cranmore Mountain Resort. Guests walk out of the hotel at the base and are immediately welcomed by the natural beauty of Cranmore Mountain.
“We are so excited to welcome the Fairfield by Marriott and Lafrance Hospitality to Cranmore Mountain Resort," Cranmore President and GM Ben Wilcox said. "Cranmore now has a unique amenity at its base, a Marriott-branded hotel with a great customer service reputation that truly fits in with our mountain landscape. The Lafrance family grew up skiing at Cranmore which makes it an extra special partnership and relationship."
