Your body naturally calls for a minimum amount of sleep, and for most people, that's eight hours. When we don't get that minimum amount, we become groggy, tired, and maybe even moody.

There have been many studies on sleep and sleep disorders. Most evidence has been conclusive that people who do not get the proper amount of sleep are compromising their immune system. Some interesting studies have also been done regarding people who sleep in off shifts.  For example, third shift workers who are nocturnal, tend to be at higher risks for certain diseases such as diabetes.

If you are not the best sleeper, try to set a routine that helps you fall asleep and stay asleep. If you are in taking too much coffee and the caffeine is disrupting your slumber, think of cutting down. Getting the right support in your mattress can make a difference too. If you're waking up with aches and pains, it might be time for a new one.
