If you've ever wonder what it was like to dress back in the late 1800's, you could soon find out - and get paid for it.

The third season of The Gilded Age is returning to Newport next month and casting agents are already seeking extras to be a part of the show.

Here's how to score a job dressing up in period fashions and walking the streets of Newport.

As a huge fan of HBO's The Gilded Age, I love the fact that the show constantly returns to the Ocean State for filming at Newport's historic mansions.

This October will bring even more scenes to America's Society Capitol with expanded storylines for fan favorite Peggy Scott, which may show how the Black elite lived in Newport as well.

But no matter which main characters come to Newport for filming at the end of October, one thing the show will definitely need for almost every scene is extras.

That's where you come in.

How To Be An Extra in The Gilded Age

Luckily no SAG card is needed to appear in scenes from this popular period drama.

In fact right now Grant Wilfley Casting is "seeking talent to portray 1880s background people in season three of "The Gilded Age."

There posting looks to find individuals who are local to the Newport/Providence area, are comfortable with receiving a period-appropriate haircut and/or facial hair alteration to fit the time period and, of course, wearing periods clothing.

Extras must be at least 18, must be white and can't have unnatural hair colors or extensions. There are also no buzz cuts or fades, no visible tattoos or piercings allowed and extras must have natural nails. Women must also have at least shoulder length hair.

Even if you don't make it into the show, we can all eagerly await the upcoming season that should hit HBO in early 2025.

Newport Mansions Seen in HBO's 'The Gilded Age'

"The Gilded Age" film crews have returned to Newport, Rhode Island, for several weeks of filming for the upcoming second season of HBO's hit show. Casting calls from March gave away the International Tennis Hall of Fame as a site for several scenes and, of course, several of the historic city's epic mansions are being used as well.
