The Gilded Age is back filming in Newport this month, turning any visit to the seaside city into a bit of a guessing game.

With the hit HBO series once again transforming the city's historic mansions into a late-1800s playground for high society drama, you never know when a simple stroll could lead you straight into a film set—complete with film crews and extras in full period costumes.

Spotting a star, however, has mostly been left up to chance. Until now.

Cynthia Nixon has officially been confirmed in town, and fans even have a chance to see her in person this weekend.

Cynthia Nixon’s Upcoming Appearance at The Breakers

Nixon, who has played Ada Brooks since The Gilded Age began in 2022, will appear at The Breakers on Sunday April, 26 for "An Evening With Cynthia Nixon." The event will feature a live conversation inside the mansion's Great Hall, offering a rare opportunity to hear about her role—and her broader career—up close.

Her appearance all but confirms she's in Newport filming scenes for the show's upcoming fourth season, giving fans at least one guaranteed celebrity sighting amid the usual mystery.

Though much of what is being filmed remains under wraps, her presence does present some interesting possibilities.

What This Means for the Next Season

With many of the Newport mansion scenes reflecting rooms in the Russell family home, it might be safe to assume there will be party scenes that bring the Brooks/van Rhijn household "across the street."

Add to that the show's expected 1-2 year time jump with Marian and Larry's romance a central storyline, and perhaps a large Russell mansion wedding will be bringing all the main characters together.

For now, fans will have to keep guessing which other stars might pop up around town.

But when it comes to Cynthia Nixon, there's no guesswork involved. She will be center stage inside The Great Hall at The Breakers this Sunday night.

Newport Mansions Seen in HBO's 'The Gilded Age'

"The Gilded Age" film crews have returned to Newport, Rhode Island, for several weeks of filming for the upcoming second season of HBO's hit show. Casting calls from March gave away the International Tennis Hall of Fame as a site for several scenes and, of course, several of the historic city's epic mansions are being used as well. Here are all the places filming is expected to take place around town this May.

Recapture The Gilded Age in This Hawthorn Street Home

Many New Bedford homes can claim to be from America's Gilded Age, but not all of them still feature their late 1800s architecture. This historic home on Hawthorn Street however does boast most of its original interior features and is certainly a sight to see.
