Joe Biden Surprises Newport Car Show With His Iconic 1967 Corvette

The Audrain Automobile Museum in Newport, Rhode Island is a popular destination for car enthusiasts. Each year the museum gathers for a star-studded Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week including a night of dinner and dancing at its Annual Fundraising Gala and the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance at Fort Adams.

A Surprise Guest at Fort Adams

This year, they were surprised by a special guest and fellow car connoisseur: former President Joe Biden. He surprised the crowd at Fort Adams on Saturday, October 3, showing off a set of wheels that's been in his family for decades.

"It was an honor to welcome him to Newport. Thank you, President Biden, for sharing your Corvette and its story with us. It’s clear you’re a true car enthusiast at heart, and we’re thrilled to count you among the Audrain family," Audrain shared on its Facebook page.

The Story Behind Biden’s Award-Winning ’67 Corvette

His 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible, which was given to Biden as a wedding gift, took home the Spirit of Audrain Award at the event.

"We were proud to present President Biden with a quilted ACMW jacket, embroidered with his name by Warwick’s own Myron Wood, along with an Audrain Automobile Museum Lifetime Membership as member #46," Audrain shared.
