Just in time for its 100th anniversary, Hotel Viking in Newport is reopening with a new look.

A Historic Newport Landmark Turns 100

The popular hotel on Bellevue Avenue will welcome guests once again in May 2026.

“As we enter the hotel’s 100th anniversary, we are dedicated to honoring the role Hotel Viking has long played in Newport’s history,” CEO & Managing Partner of KHP Capital Partners Ben Rowe said.

KHP Capital Partners is the ownership group behind the hotel.

The multimillion-dollar refurbishment is stunning, the hotel has preserved much of its rich history.

“This next chapter will pay proper homage to the property’s legacy, with the ultimate goal of cultivating a space where locals and travelers alike can gather, connect, and feel at home,” Rowe said.

Honoring the Hotel Viking's 1926 Roots

The room key cabinet from 1926 will still be on full display behind the front desk, which the hotel says exemplifies its commitment to its past while ushering in a new chapter for the next generation.

The Newport hotel will also be collaborating with local artists, designers, and craftspeople to ensure that every detail reflects the city’s creative spirit.
