There's nothing like kicking off the unofficial start of summer on Martha's Vineyard. The MGM Show has been ringing in Memorial Day Weekend at the Nobnocket Boutique Inn in Vineyard Haven for the last decade and for good reason. It's stunning, peaceful and the owners are top notch. Don't just take our word for it; Nobnocket has recently been recognized by MICHELIN for its award-winning accommodations.

A Prestigious International Honor for Vineyard Haven

The Nobnocket Boutique Inn has been awarded one MICHELIN Key for "a very special stay."

"The Michelin Key designation is possibly the highest industry recognition a hotel can receive," Nobnocket co-owner Annabelle Hunton said. "It’s international and everybody knows what MICHELIN stands for so it’s an incredible honor that a small property such as ours is included with such prestigious U.S. hotels."

She and her husband Simon were honored to receive the news. "Michelin purposely searches out unique, independent properties that have a sense of style locally engaged and provide best in class customer experiences to have ticked all those boxes is, frankly, amazing," she said.

What Does a MICHELIN Key Mean for Hotels?

Receiving a MICHELIN Key is the hotel equivalent of the highly coveted MICHELIN Star that restaurants aim for. While MICHELIN made its first hotel recommendations back in the 1920s, it wasn't until 2024 that it began handing out keys.

The Nobnocket Boutique Inn was among the group to receive the high praise in its inaugural year.

"It is our privilege to specially highlight the crème de la crème of our selection. All MICHELIN Guide hotels excel in design, architecture, service and personality – the MICHELIN Key denotes the most outstanding experiences in our selection," MICHELIN said.

Design, Service, and Local Pride on Martha's Vineyard

"We always wanted to offer a design-lead property with exceptional service at the core of the business, so this really is the ultimate validation that we’ve been successful in creating something special with the Nobnocket," Annabelle said. "Whether it’s myself, Simon, our incredible staff, or the local businesses that we partner with, this is a reflection of the hard work that is put in and the attention to detail that we give. To get the key is the pinnacle of our Inn keeping journey – other than hosting Fun 107, of course."
