Newport’s Castle Hill Inn Shares Reopening Timeline Following February Fire

On the night of February 5, a fire broke out at the iconic Castle Hill Inn in Newport. Fortunately, no one was reported injured, but the building suffered some notable damage.

Now, less than a week later, the waterfront venue has a plan in place for reopening to the public.

If grabbing a glass of rosé on the lawn is on your summer bucket list, things look promising. The goal is to have all restaurants and bars up and running by Memorial Day 2026.

The Inn shared its appreciation for the love and well wishes so many shared in the days and hours following the fire.

"As we continue to develop a timeline for reopening Castle Hill, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the community for the extraordinary outpouring of support," a recent Facebook post read.

"Some affected staff members have been temporarily placed at other Newport Restaurant Group properties, and we are actively working to bring as many of our team members back to the Inn as soon as possible," the post read.

When Will Castle Hill Inn Reopen?

The plan, as of now, is to utilize the usable space within the property.

The Beach Houses and Beach Cottages will begin taking reservations for overnight stays beginning March 5.

"Until we are able to return to the Mansion later this spring, the heart of the Inn operations will shift to the Chalet," Castle Hill Inn stated. This includes relocating the spa from the Mansion to the Chalet for the time being. The Chalet was unaffected by the recent fire.

"Overnight guests will enjoy a gourmet buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and light bites with cocktails in the evening," Castle Hill Inn said.

Room service will even be available during the day and into the evening hours.

Castle Hill Inn is even going one step further for its guests, providing evening transportation to those looking to dine in downtown Newport.

As for the rooms and suites within the mansion, Castle Hill Inn promised to keep its followers posted throughout the coming weeks.
